Cliffs of Moher Visitor Centre, Liscannor Ireland

Reddy O'Riordan Staehli Architects designed the Cliffs of Moher Visitor Center, completed in 2007.

The €31m project handles a larger amount of visitors with panoramic views of the shore and accommodations such as restaurants, gift shops, and graphic displays of the historic Moher Cliffs. The building burrowed into the site in order to lesson its impact on the sensitive environment. Green friendly features include geo-thermal stystems, solar energy, and water recycling for the restrooms.

Small window opening spread light into cavernous spaces, with carefully controlled artificial lights highlighting structural elements and artwork. A photographic display of the cliffs are plastered directly onto the stalls of the women's restroom.
