The Kum Iam temple in now-Chinese Macau was originally built in the 1400's, and was reconstructed in 1627. A statue Kun Iam, the Chinese Buddhist Goddess of Mercy, is found in the main hall with silk dressings. The Hall of the Three Precious Buddhas is found nearby with a large 300 year old bronze bell. The gardens in back are terraced.
The swirling yellow cones hanging from the ceiling are an intriguing representation of sacred bells. The temple structure isn't very ancient, but it uses very ancient sensibilities and construction techniques. The tourist attraction is still a sacred example of Buddhist architecture.
