Reversible Destiny Yoro Park, Gifu Japan

The unexpected environment in Yoro Park causes visitors to "rethink their physical and spiritual orientation to the world." Designer Shusaku Arakawa and creator Madeline Gins designed 148 paths that weave aimlessly through augmented but familiar elements like trees and furniture.

A large bowl inverts everything into a concave valley and "reversable" buildings reflect everything on the ground onto the ceiling. The moral seems to be that everything is reversable, that there is an equal and opposite to all reality. The challenge is to keep your balance.

It opened in 1995.
