Jean-Marie Duthilleul with AREP designed the residential towers and interchange Xizhimen subway station in Beijing 西直門. As head architect of the French National Railroads, Duthilleul has designed stations in several countries.

Completed in 2005, the triple towers take parabola forms that speak of train stations. With artistic form, well designed circulation, contextual sensitivity, and sun-shading devices, this project signals a modernization in China's buildings.
