Carlos Ferrater designed the 1992. It was inaugurated by the King and Queen of Spain for the opening of the "1992 Olympic Games" in Barcelona. It won the National Architecture Award for that year. It has 375 rooms, 32 double deluxe rooms, and 25,000m2 of gardens. The Catalonia Palace of Congresses, designed in 2001 by Ferrater and Cartañá, is available to host events, along with 14 meeting room. The three restaurants, two bars, and health club surround the large open atrium.
