I have combination skin that is prone to acne and pimples (particularly around the jawline), so I always like to use products that will help with oil control and blemish control.
Cetaphil Oily Skin Cleanser is a product I have used for the last few months, and I actually do like it. It took me a while to get use to it, but now that I am, I think it really works well for me.
Cetaphil says: Cetaphil Oily Skin Cleanser provides effective cleansing for oily, combination or blemished skin. Its gentle foaming action removes oil, dirt, skin debris and makeup without leaving your skin dry and, importantly, without the tightness that results from soap-based cleansers. That’s because it is formulated to remove oil without affecting the skin barrier. (Skin acts as a barrier, keeping moisture in so it is important that a cleanser works without compromising the skin barrier.) Cetaphil Oily Skin Cleanser does not clog pores and can be used in conjunction with acne medication.
What I like about the Cetaphil Oily Skin Cleanser is that it is formulated to remove oil from the skin, exactly what I need for my combination skin type. It comes in a sturdy bottle with pump top, that is easy to dispense.
The product comes out as a clear liquid that feels gentle and soft on the skin. It does not foam up, I just massage the liquid (which turns white) onto my face. Once I rinse it off, it really does leave my face feeling clean and fresh. I can feel that it has cleansed the oils off my face. I use this as a final step in my cleansing routine to give me a refreshed clean feeling . It does not dry out my skin which is also good.
If my skin has breakouts, this really does help to keep them clean and removes the dirt and oils from the areas. It also is great at removing light makeup. This can be used morning and night to keep the skin clean and help avoid breakouts (depends on your skin type) It has a strong smell which is what took me a while to get use to, but now I am use to it, it doesn't bother me. I really do feel that the Cetaphil Oily Skin cleanser is great at controlling the oils on my face and therefore helps to reduce the amount of pimples/breakouts I get. (of course this is only if you continue to use it regularly)
Overall, the Cetaphil Oily Skin Cleanser is something I would definitely recommend to anyone that has oily or problematic skin with breakouts, as it will help to control and clean the oils from your skin, which is what I love about it the most! (I also think it would be great for anyone of any age. My kids will be giving this a try when they are teenagers!)
The Cetaphil Oily Skin Cleanser comes in two sizes 235ml - around $10 and 500ml - around $15. I usually find it on sale, at supermarkets or Priceline.
Have you tried any Cetaphil products? What do you use to control oils and reduce pimples or acne?
