Perlan Restaurant, Reykjavík Iceland

Ingimundur Sveinsson designed the Pearl in Reykjavík, Iceland, completed for public visitors in 1991. Sveinsson added a glass dome and emptied a water storage tank for vast Saga Museum gallery space. The building also offers a revolving restaurant, shops, concerts, and a viewing deck.

Water is geothermically heated through pipes in the historic water supply landmark for the city, which stands lit atop a hill in the middle of the city. A geyser rise just in front of the building.
