Koch + Partner Architects designed the Terminal 2 of the Franz Josef Strauss Flughafen München, completed in 2003. The airport first opened in 1992. The airport's quick connections between terminals and to the train U-bahn quickly propelled it as one of Europe's top airports.
The terminal building's advanced steel structure opens it wide and admits sunlight from both sides and from above. It also offers a "meditation room" where people of all faiths may worship and relax.
