DVD review - Warhorse

I love relaxing by watching DVD's and haven't done that in a long time, so when I was sent the dvd Warhorse to watch, I was excited to have a night of relaxing and watching a movie.

The movie Warhorse is directed by Steven Spielberg and is a adventure movie set in the time of World War 1.  I watched the trailer for this movie and was quite interested to watch it.

It is a beautiful story of inspiration, loyalty and adventure. The movie starts off a little slow, but picks up and becomes interesting and emotional.

The movie is about Joey ( the horse) who belongs to Albert, a young boy who bonds with his horse and trains him to work the fields as a work horse to save the family home. But when World War 1 begins, Alberts father sells Joey the horse to the army.

The story then follows Joey as he goes through countrysides and battlefields with the army,  meeting many people and places along the way. Joey finds another friend horse that he bonds with instantly and Joey proves to really be a courageous war horse.

The movie is captivating as it goes through the scenes of the war. The movie gives a strong message of loyalty, bravery and love. There are definitely some strong war scenes, but overall the message of the movie is beautiful - and you will need a tissue or two!

BYS lipgloss review

I am really loving the BYS lipglosses. I have blogged about BYS before and love their eyeshadows and nailpolishes and now their lipglosses too. BYS is an Australian brand providing great products and value for money. The ranges and colours that they offer is excellent.

I love this lipgloss in the colour Panther Pink, a beautiful soft pink colour. It is great to wear over any lipstick to give it a gorgeous shine and sparkle. It lasts pretty long and applies smoothly and evenly.

The packaging is a sleek, long tube with a black top and doe foot applicator. The colour is a little pigmented but mostly sheer with a beautiful shine. It is not sticky at all, but rather feels soft and smooth on the lips.

You could wear this alone to give you a nice light pink gloss with beautiful shine or I love it on top of any lipstick to give my lips shine.

The BYS lipglosses retail at $3.95aus which is very affordable and I recommend for anyone that wants a great shiny lipgloss.

BYS are sold in selected stores or online at Fashion Addict who ship internationally. There are a few other great colours to choose from as well.

Gnomeo and Juliet DVD review and Giveaway (CLOSED)

We all know the story of Romeo and Juliet and the gorgeous love story!

When I first saw the preview for the movie Gnomeo and Juliet I loved it. The garden gnomes are so cute!

The movie is about the red family and blue family of gnomes who are rivals and do not want to have anything to do with each other.

But one day Gnomeo (blue family) and Juliet (red family) meet and there is a instant connection between the two of them. They hide their friendship but do get caught out and the adventure begins.

The characters are so loveable and funny, with the story making reference to the actual Romeo and Juliet story pretty well. The music in the movie is filled with Elton John songs which compliments the movie. The animation is definitely state of the art quality.

This movie is great for adults and children. My two year old loves it and is captivated by the adventures that take place and my eight year old son blogged about it on his blog - World for Kids  (he would love it if you could check out his blog!)

Sharpay's Fabulous Adventure DVD review and Giveaway

Think glamour, style, music, courage and determination!

These are some of the great things about the Disney movie Sharpay's Fabulous Adventure, from the original producers of High School Musical.

The movie starts off with Sharpay (played by Ashley Tisdale) who is an aspiring performer and is approached by a Broadway producer who seems to want her to audition in New York. Sharpay convinces her father to let her go and he will pay to rent a penthouse, but when she arrives in New York things don't work out as planned.

Sharpay is kicked out of the penthouse as there are no dogs allowed, the audition is for her dog Boi not her, there is some competition with the audition by a little cocker spaniel dog and the star of the show Amber Lee Adams who is Sharpay's idol, is not who you think she is.

And then there is Peyton (played by Austin Butler) who is a student film maker, he steers Sharpay in the right direction and of course there is a little love in the air.

Definitely a great 'girly' movie that I really enjoyed, with catchy songs, great fashion and gorgeous apartments.

Tangled DVD review and Giveaway (CLOSED)

Heard the story of Rapunzel? When I was younger I knew her as the girl with long hair. So when the movie Tangled came out I was excited to watch it. This movie now is one of my favourites. I absolutely enjoyed it and have watched it over and over again, I know I have a obsession! (All thanks to Disney!)

The story of Tangled is a modern twist on the classical story of Rapunzel. It is the story of Rapunzel (voice over by Mandy Moore) who is kidnapped by Mother Gothel as she wants Rapunzel's magical abilities that are in her hair to keep her younger.

Rapunzel is raised in a tower by Mother Gothel for eighteen years and her hair is never cut and has grown 70 feet long. Rapunzel has dreams, a creative talent and a pet chameleon Pascal. Every year on Rapunzel's birthday floating lights are released from the palace and Rapunzel loves watching them floating in the sky and longs to be able to go and see them, but Mother Gothel forbids her to ever leave the tower.

One day a outlaw Flynn Rider (voice over by Zachary Levi) ends up in the tower and is captured by Rapunzel. Rapunzel makes a deal with him, he is to guide her to the floating lights that she has forever longed to see and she will let him go. Rapunzel escapes the tower with Flynn and it is quite an adventure.

The movie has intriguing, loveable characters that are played with great emotions. Rapunzel is such a loveable character she is innocent and has a beautiful outlook on life, finally following her heart. The storyline is captivating, hilarious and thrilling. The movie has excellent animated motion pictures and uplifting music. My children loved the movie too.

Tron Legacy DVD review and GIVEAWAY (closed)

When I saw this movie and read what it is about I immediately knew that my seven year old son and husband would love this movie, and I was RIGHT!

Tron Legacy is a high-tech motion picture where you will immerse yourself in the digital world of Tron.

When Kevin Flynn (played by Jeff Bridges), the world's greatest video game creator, sends out a secret signal from an amazing digital realm, his son Sam Flynn (played by Garrett Hedlund) discovers the clue and embarks on a personal journey to save his long-lost father. With the help of the fearless female warrior Quorra, father and son venture through an incredible cyber universe and wage the ultimate battle of good versus evil.

This storyline in this movie is easy to follow and has state of the art technology in the creating of this movie. It really takes you into the video game with fantastic visual effects, lights and objects.

My husband has favourite scenes in the movie where the graphics are just fantastic. My seven year old son loves the movie and was amazed at how the movie was done because it feels so real - like you really are in a video game.

I was quite surprised at how much I did enjoy this movie. Its a great change from the movies I would normally watch and once again a great Disney movie. This movie will be a hit for anyone that loves technology, games and great visual effects. So check out the giveaway!
