Happy Birthday || Hannah Noble

Happy Birthday to the wonderful Hannah Noble! Today is her 17th birthday and we are very pleased to be celebrating it with her. Hannah Noble was discovered at last years EML competition, where she went on to become a finalist. Since then she has gone on to have huge success within the industry walking for Christopher Kane, Prada, PPQ and Roksanda Illincic to name but a few and shooting some stunning editorials for Dazed & Confused, i-D, Wonderland and most recently Vogue Turkey. We are very proud of our homegrown girl and hope she has an amazing birthday!

Vogue Italia | Julia Saner

We immediately fell in love with this stunning editorial and promotional film from the March issue of Vogue Italia. Shot by the ever amazing Steven Meisel, it stars Elite Model Look superstar, the beautiful Julia Saner. Entitled 'Wasted Luxury' and with a touch of the Secret Garden, it seems to be modern interpretation of a Victorian painting and we think Julia's doll-like charm, complete with ethereal make-up completely makes the whole shoot.

NYASHA'S DAZZLING DEBUT

While our crop of 2010 EML girls were preparing for the world final in Shanghai, last year's UK winner Nyasha Matonhodze was busy showing us all just how far an EML girl can go in 12 months - actually in just 4 weeks as she has only just finished school! After closing her debut London season with a turn for Jonathan Saunders, we were thrilled to see Nyasha turning heads in Paris for none other Loewe and Louis Vuitton. A dazzling debut!

4 days in and our 12 EML recruits are walking, talking and dressing like models... but can they pass the ultimate test - the FASHION SHOW?

Dress rehearsal gets underway

After a leisurely Thursday breakfast at the fashion-fabulous Mayfair hotel the girls strolled round to the final show venue, the incredible One Mayfair to crack on with the main event. Rehearsals got underway immediately, with the girls taking their first steps on a real catwalk under the guidance of last year's winner, Nyasha Matonhodze.

The terribly talented Toni & Guy Art Team were once again on hand to coif the girls to perfection, with celeb makeup artists Daniel Sandler  and his team supplying the makeup. All a-flutter in their Eylure lashes and ready to rock their Warehouse looks, the spotlight moment arrived for our finalists... look out for show and winner pictures here over the weekend!

EML FINAL - THE STYLE DAY

The week is flying by and now it's time for our 12 Elite Model Look finalists to chill out and enjoy the model lifestyle before tomorrow's big final show. The day started with a morning visit to the ultra-glam Urban Retreat at Harrods, where the girls were treated to makeup classes, skincare consultations, manicures and massages... all primped and preened and so relaxed we had to drag the dozing models off to their next appointment. Well they deserved a nap.... 

Another blast of catwalk workshop at the agency was followed by a trip to lovely style partner WAREHOUSE's flagship store in Argyll Street. The girls got the red carpet treatment as the store was closed especially for them to shop, while Warehouse's stylists helped them pick out the perfect model looks.

EML FINAL - THE PHOTOSHOOT

After the excitement of makeovers,  Day 3 of the Samsung Diva Elite Model Look Final saw our girls get in front of the camera to show off their new looks. With everyone getting to know each other, and a team of almost 20 getting are girls ready for their first major shoot, it was an action-packed if exhausting day for our little supermodels... the full shoot will be published soon but in the meantime here's a taster of the day.

Here Come the Girls!

Our Samsung Diva Elite Model Look finalists are here at last! The top 12 girls to emerge from our 2010 casting tour are in town preparing for their catwalk debut at Thursday's Grand Final, and we are SO excited to finally have them all to ourselves for a week!  From the minute they arrived on Sunday the girls have been on the go, starting with fittings for their too-fabulous-for-words bespoke Warehouse dresses, choosing their skyscraper catwalk heels, and delving into goody bags including mobile phones, clothes and beauty products from our lovely sponsors Samsung Diva, Warehouse, Toni & Guy, Eylure and All for Eve.

LONDON CALLING

After 4 months of castings, miles of motorway, and thousands of applicants, the Elite Model Look team pitched our catwalk for the last time this weekend, staking out our scouting spot in the heart of London. On a glorious sunny Saturday we had our biggest casting yet, with queues around the block and over 250 catwalk contenders strutting their stuff. And on a day that our football team didn't exactly do us proud, at least we found a whole team of EML winners!

The London date concludes this year's EML castings, although our scouts will be busy adding to the current roster of finalists at music festivals and other summer events over the next few months - and any would-be supermodels can still apply online at www.elitemodellook.co.uk.

Finding a great Geordie girl has been a personal goal of the EML team so we were all prepared for a supermodel discovery at Gateshead's MetroCentre last weekend... and we weren't disappointed! We had one of the busiest castings yet with applicants coming from all over the northeast and even as far away as Cumbria, and after a frantic afternoon of casting and catwalking we picked out 6 fab finalists... plus one bonus finalist who we had to put through even though she missed the catwalk!

The talented teams from Toni&Guy salons nationwide have been getting the locks of our Elite Model Look contestants runway-ready as we've been trekking all over the country in search of Britain's next supermodels. Here's a taster of what they've been up to...

ELITE MODEL LOOK HEADS SOUTH!

Another weekend...another casting for the EML team who will be in Southampton's West Quay centre on Saturday for our Southern England stop on the tour.

Elite Model Look Casting Day One: Lakeside!

The waiting is finally over - The Samsung Diva Elite Model Look road show kicked off on Saturday at Lakeside Shopping centre in Essex. The day passed in a blur of Toni & Guy blow outs, fluttery Eylure lashes, DIVA phones, a Warehouse instore after-party (thank you Artisan cupcake company http://www.theartisancupcakecompany.com/ ), photo sessions and catwalking so thanks to all of you who came down and took part!

LOOKING GOOD AT THE LOOK SHOW!

This season we were thrilled to join Look Magazine for the very first high street catwalk show at London Fashion Week, another ELITE EXCLUSIVE!

While the LFW schedules are already a fantastic showcase for the launching of the incredible young designers that work in the UK, we're really happy to see the high street and the public get a peek behind the industry's doors at last. After all with so many amazing LFW designers (Christopher Kane, Louise Goldin, Mary Katranzou, PPQ...) now designing for our everyday retailers it's only fair that the high street show what they can do too!

So in the middle of a manic fashion week, 23 fabulous Elite London girls took to the catwalk at the Saatchi Gallery to present the new collections from the brands that make the British high street the best in the world - Warehouse, Zara, ASOS, Reiss and French Conenction to name just a few. With an interval performance by Pixie Lott and the launch of the SAMSUNG DIVA ELITE MODEL LOOK 2010 as well, it was an action packed afternoon for Elite, and we couldn't be happier to be supporting a great new addition to the fashion calendar.

We felt like proud parents when these latest shots of our Elite Model Look winner Emily Smith hit our inbox. Shot on location in China while competiting in the world final (we love a girl that can multitask), this fashion story for Flavor magazine proves just how versatile our girl from Basingstoke can be. Watching a new face grow and develop into a model is one of the most rewarding elements of the job and we can't get over how ladylike and grown-up Emily looks in this editorial. We're not saying anything just yet but keep an eye out for our rising star this coming fashion week...watch this space!
