Iñigo Ortiz y Enrique de León designed the Torre Mapfre at Port Olímpic in Barcelona, completed in 1992. Hotel Arts stands nearby. At 44 floors, it is 505 ft tall. The international style skyscraper has stainless steel and granite exterior facades extruded to shade the curtain wall windows. The extruded facades reflect the city back down, for a striking image. These two towers stand on the city's Olympic Port beachfront. It has a 240 seat auditorium and commercial venues on the bottom podium.
