Rafael Vinoly designed the Jongno Tower for Samsung in Korea, completed in 1999. He uses a steel bezel in a transparent facade to allow maximum light input with small steel rods for structure. The 24 story, 132m tall building celebrates its exoskeleton as it rises above the body of the office tower and a cap cantilevers for a restaurant with views over Seoul. A variety of transparencies, light shades, and structure mass are composed in a constructionist design.
